Dr. Alissa Fogg, PhD
Chief of Staff, American Psychological Association (APA)
Alissa Fogg, PhD, is Chief of Staff at the American Psychological Association (APA), where she serves on the Executive Leadership Team and is a senior advisor to CEO. In that role, she works at the junction of strategy and execution — turning the CEO's vision into coordinated action, from shaping external partnerships and public messaging to advancing association-wide priorities. Much of her work currently focuses on psychology’s role in informing the responsible development, deployment, and use of AI. She helped develop the concept for APA's Center for Behavioral Science and AI and supports the Center’s efforts to translate behavioral science into practical guidance for practitioners, families, and policymakers. Alissa joined APA in 2017 and holds a PhD in developmental psychology from The Catholic University of America, where her research examined the cognitive, social, and physiological predictors of adolescent risk-taking
