Priya Bery

Vice President for Partnerships, Pew Charitable Trusts

Priya Bery is senior vice president for partnerships at The Pew Charitable Trusts, leading the development of large-scale collaborations, scaling impact, and catalyzing innovative systemic solutions with individuals and organizations that share the goal of making a positive difference to some of the most challenging problems facing the world today.

Priya partners with leaders across Pew’s network to shape the organization-wide strategy for Pews work with partners and donors. She is building a philanthropic movement around policy and systems change and uncovers co-investment opportunities to support a broad range of issues including biodiversity, climate, economic advancement, mental health, community violence, science and democracy.

Previously, Priya was chief executive officer of the Tarsadia Foundation, a family foundation that invests in food and housing security, advancing mental health and well- being, and building inclusive economies for women and marginalized communities.

Prior to that, she was vice president for purpose and social entrepreneurship at TOMS, overseeing their social investment portfolio. Priya was also head of public affairs and partnerships at Virgin Unite, where she led the organization’s advocacy strategy and helped incubate collaborative funding initiatives including The Elders, Carbon War Room and B-Team. Early in her career, she spearheaded the business response to the global AIDS pandemic with then-U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Richard C. Holbrooke, and served as a legislative correspondent for former U.S. Senator Carl Levin (D-Michigan).

Priya serves as an advisor to the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project and JUST Capital. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biopsychology and cognitive science from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in policy and management from Harvard University’s School of Public Health.
