Jonas serves as Peg’s Foundation’s Senior Strategic Policy Advisor, collaborating with Ohio and national regulators, funders, providers, advocates, and investors to develop consensus-driven regulatory and policy strategies that advance the Foundation’s mission and expand quality care in Ohio. With more than thirty-five years of leadership in behavioral health operations and clinical care, Jonas is a tireless advocate dedicated to designing, implementing, and delivering equitable, high-quality behavioral health services. He has established and executed successful Medicaid-focused systems, advanced key policy initiatives, developed new markets, and strengthened provider networks to support individuals with complex needs.
As a senior leader at major managed care organizations, Jonas launched award-winning products for Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace programs across multiple states, reaching 2.5 million members and consistently achieving financial targets on revenues exceeding $2 billion. His implementation of integrated care models resulted in reduced psychiatric hospital readmissions, increased behavioral health engagement, lower costs, and improved member satisfaction—positively impacting more than three million members.
Jonas’s dual clinical and executive experience informs his holistic, person-centered approach. His early work with vulnerable populations strengthened his commitment to policy reform and program development. He has collaborated with state governments, Medicaid plans, and advocacy groups to expand access to innovative evidence-based services.
In 2021, Jonas founded a successful consulting firm that helps entrepreneurs, philanthropists, governments, funders, advocates, trades, and providers achieve measurable results in behavioral health, reflected by a net promoter score above 98%. Clients value his strategic insight, clear communication, and focus on outcomes.
Jonas’s leadership is defined by integrity, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning. He believes in understanding the human context behind data to drive sustainable change in behavioral healthcare.
Jonas holds a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in Counseling and is a licensed independent counselor in Ohio and Kentucky. A proud Ohioan, Jonas has also lived in Kentucky and the Florida Panhandle. He enjoys spending time with his family and is passionate about the Grateful Dead, German cars, and modern design.
